I was taking a few pictures outside my first tourist spot in Vienna, St Stephan’s Cathedral and outside in the square, was a whole load of guys dressed up as Mozart. Of course Mozart made his debut at the tender age of six, not far from here, at Schonbrunn palace, so he’s a local touchstone, much like Robert Burns is in Scotland. The guys here were selling last minute stand up tickets to tonight’s Mozart recitals- reflecting a Vienna trend for local last minute culture vultures. And the gentleman in this shot- once he knew I was Scottish- wanted a little blast of Burns in return. I was only happy to oblige.
